People with Learning Disabilities

"People have equal rights as citizens and services for people with learning disabilities should promote inclusion, independence and choice" Valuing People (White Paper, 2001).

People with learning disabilities have the same needs as we all have, in that they want freedom and choice, to live independently, to have self-esteem, to engage socially, and to be able to live as full of a life as possible.

Learning disabilities, although they can be categorised, can vary from person to person; each person is unique, in most cases there may be some reduced intellectual ability or social skills, and in some people, there may also be physical or emotional conditions.

The home care and community services we provide are planned especially for each person, taking into account their individual and unique requirements, no matter what their age or circumstances.

We support people with learning disabilities to develop more fulfilled lives, enabling them to make a positive contribution to their local community.

Community Care Choice is a person centred organisation which supports individuals at home and in the community throughout Glasgow and the west of Scotland.

Our support allows our users to live their lives, realise their potential and fulfil their ambitions.
